Wishes and Goals

Well we had homework the other day and by we, I really mean that it was assigned to Betsey but it had my name written all over it.... she came home with this chart to fill out about herself and her family, what she wanted to be when she grows up and 3 wishes. We got this about a week before it was due but somehow that week just kind of got away from me, so I pulled a Judy! (For those of you who don't know, Judy, is Shelley's mom and she is my other mother who I love dearly) We started the project about 7:30 the night before it was due, at 8:30 I was on the computer sending pictures to Walgreens, at 9:30 I was at Walgreens trying to pick up those pictures, at 10:30 I was back home trying to find the glue and finally by 11:30 "her" homework was complete! I guess if it had been in true Judy fashion I could have always taken her in late the next day! HA! I did have one thing going for me though, I live an awful lot closer to the Walgreens then I would if I had been out in Arcola. It was Betsey's answers that really had me cracking up. What do you want to be when you grow up? "A cooker, so I can cook things." I promise I gave birth to her but is that my child talking?!?!?!? What is somehting that you wish for? "Well I would really like to live in a hotel for forever." Now that I know is my child! Oh out of the mouth of a four year old! Love that girl

A kite and a boogie board

The DIVA pose

chasing after the kite

beautiful sunset

I love this!!!! Y'all are never getting to do this again!!!

So much fun

The last time we were at the beach Rusty and I decided that we should get a kite because it had been so windy the weekend before when we were down there. Well wouldn't you know there was hardly any wind when we were trying to fly our kite! We were able to get it up a few times and it was so sweet to see Betsey flying it with her daddy and for Ellasyn to be rinning after them trying to keep up! I love the beach in the Fall, who am I kidding I love the beach at anytime, but the Fall is just amazing down there! When the humidity and the haze are gone it just makes it so much prettier!

We also brought out the boogie board and Betsey Boo LOVED it!!!!!! You could see this huge smile on her face and hear her giggling all the way on shore! Now this girl loves to be in the waves anyways but she was in heaven on the boogie board! Rusty and I were trying to enjoy it too but she kept wanting a turn....what did she think that we were to OLD to be doing this???? HA! Can't wait until the next time we get to bring it out!

First Day of School

So I don't think that I ever posted any pics from the 1st day of school but we did take them!!!! The girls were so excited to be going back to school. We wore our traditional plaid on the 1st day. Ever since the 1st day of 8th grade I have worn plaid on the 1st day of school. Even when I was teaching I had to wear plaid on the 1st day. I got this from Shelley and her family who do this every year too! I even have Mason and Mckenzie knowing that they are supposed to wear plaid on the 1st day and the triplets did this year too! I hope that Betsey and Ellasyn are ready to carry this out until they have graduated! :)

Ellasyn's class had a teddy bear picnic on the 1st day and she got to bring a teddy bear with her to school, which I thought was a really cute idea. Betsey was just happy to be back with her friends. I was very sad because last year she just had the best little class and they all got along so well together and this year they got split up with half going to one class and the other in her class. I won't lie I had some issues about how things were going to be before school and even looked into some other schools but things are going GREAT and she loves it!!! So all of that over nothing!

Love this girl even when.......

she throws a tantrum!!! You are sooo precious Ellasyn!

A girl in a twirly dress

There is nothing like a twirly dress to put a smile on this little girl's face! She loves them. It is like a requirement for all of her dresses to be able to twirl!

Meet the Teacher Day

So glad that the faces in these pictures really weren't how we were really feeling! I think that all 3 of us were ready to go find out about their teachers and see who all would be in their classes. We had an AMAZING summer but the time has come for us to head back to our very busy routine of school, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading and church. We are on the go 4 days of the week but I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

What is with my children

Aren't these just some of the most BEAUTIFUL faces you have ever seen?
What a TALENT they have. Do they give scholarships for this?

Where did they learn that they could do this?? I can't do this. Rusty can't do this.

Really girls, can we work on this??? If you keep this up your face just might freeze like this!

As Ellasyn was making these faces she was jamming in her high chair. She was just a grooving, rocking and bouncing in her seat. Rusty looks at me and asks "What is she doing?" I reply " She is dancing to the music she hears in her head." Betsey leans her head over so that it is touching Ellasyn's and she starts doing it too and she says"Yeah I hear it. It's a good song!"
Maybe we should be worried!!! :)

More pics from St. Louis

These girls at Show Me's look funny in their outfits, Daddy!!!!

Walking with Daddy, we love him soooo much!!!

Miss Priss marching to the beat of her own drum!

Love these girls!!!!

The Great Big Arch aka The St. Louis Arch

At the top!

This old fashioned see-saw type thing. The girls liked it, go figure.

The American girl's wagon :)

For years Betsey has called the Arch "the Great Big Arch" and has wanted to go see it. Usually we are driving past it early in the morning or late at night, not exactly the most prime conditions for visiting the Arch. Well this time on the way back to Alabama we weren't in a rush or on a schedule so we decided that we would go. I am so glad that we did! We all had a fabulous time riding the little capsule up to the top and wondering around in the museum underground. It is set in a beautiful park and the girls had a ball running around.

Well wouldn't you know, while we were there walking around the bottom, there was a covered wagon showing how the pioneers had traveled across the west and in the back of it there was this little rag doll. No big deal right, the kind that lots of little girls might have had in the 1800's not so to Betsey. As we are walking past it she yells " Mommy look which American Girl doll is that?" "Do you think that we have that one?" Bets, I hate to break it to ya but I don't think they had American Girl dolls back then! :) Needless to say this got quite a few laughs from our fellow museum goers.

After several attempts at getting a picture of the girls with the entire Arch in the background, we were hungry, so of all places to take my 2 year old and 4 year old their father chose to take them to Show-Me's the Missouri version of Hooters! Nice one W.R.

If you have never visited the Arch, you should! It is really neat to how it see how it was built especially when you think about all of the technology that they did NOT have. It is pretty COOL!

Missouri

At the end of last month we went up to Missouri for a while to visit our house! HA! Rusty had a meeting and I went to go do my yearly Kappa duty, RUSH! As Rusty calls it "my week of drama" but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world! It was really strange though becuase I flew up by MYSELF!!!! It has been a LOOOONG time since I have done that and then Rusty drove up with the girls by HIMSELF!!!! I don't think that he has EVER done that! :)

While we were there we had such a good time the weather was perfect no humidity, such a nice break from Alabama! We made great use of the new park that had been built in our neighborhood. I think that we were there at least 2 times a day. It was nice to see AA and Steve-o and our friends. I was kind of sad to leave and kept asking Rusty if we had done the right thing in moving. I think that he thought I was having a moment!
