Please Vote for my BFF on Matilda Jane

For those of you who know me you probably know my best friend Shelley or have at least heard me talk about her! We have been best friends since the 7 th grade and have been known as Lucy and Ethel for a long, long time! Well Shelley is always entering crazy contests. Once she entered her husband in a Redbook contest and he was featured in the magazine, she wrote a story about her cousin Jenny and sent it in to Weight Watchers and Jenny got a makeover in New York and was featured in Weight Watchers magazine. You get my drift. Well she entered another contest through Matilda Jane clothing company, which she and I both share a little bit of love for! The winner gets an all expenses paid trip for 2 to their big once a year art fair. So please vote she made the top 14 but now it is up to votes to determine the winner. Go to http://www.matildajaneclothing.com/ in the top right hand you will see VOTE click it and then find Polly Flinders (this is the title of her entry) and cast your vote! You will see the same precious picture in this post of her daughter Addison and Ellasyn that we took at the beach last year! THANK YOU!!!!

The dentist

The girls and I went for a cleaning at the dentist and we all hd a great report! No cavities for any of us! I was so proud of Betsey and Ellasyn who did AWESOME!!! The dentist had a carseat that Ellasyn could sit in and she thought she was hot stuff!
Betsey was excited but I think just a little bit nervous because her friend Macey just went to the dentist and she had a cavity, so Betsey was wondering if she was going to have one and if so what they would do to her. She loved it and wanted to know if we could go back the next day. Now everytime that she sees a dentist sign she wants to know when we are going back!

All of the ladies in the office were so impressed with Ellasyn who did the flouride treatment. They said they could not remember the last time they had a 3 year old who did the flouride treatment. I think that it helped that she watched Betsey go first and that she could pick her favorite flavor, strawberry!

We will be back in November and hopefully we will all get the same "No Cavities" report!

A Trip to Clemson

The day after Alice and Wonderland, Rusty was leaving to go to a conference in Clemson, South Carolina. He had been wanting to attend this conference for a while but it was always held somewhere crazy...Malaysia, Tokyo, Zurich etc. SO how it ended up in Clemson is beyond me but I digress. At first it did not even cross my mind to go with him but then I kind of got to thinking no cooking, no cleaning why is it that I wasn't considering going??? I quickly packed myself and the girls a bag and we hopped in the car with Rusty. To get to Clemson we had to travel along I-20 on Talladega weekend, WOW is all I can say! Yes Iwas the dork with my camera out the window trying to take pictures.....

If you look closely you will see two men in lawn chairs without their shirts on in the back of this truck. Can we say they were just a little bit drunk! They did wave at me though as I sat there taking their picture.

It was just mile after mile of RV's and tents everywhere! I could not believe how it just stretched on and on. I don't know if that made me want to go or want to stay far away!

We managed to hit up every park that the GPS could find us in Clemson. As well as the indoor pool at the hotel!

Daddy came home to take us out to eat every night so what more could we ask for! It was nice to take a week off and have a little mini vacay!

The weather was wonderful and we had a great time traveling with Daddy.
I am kind of hoping that Daddy has to travel again sometime soon! Well as long as we can go with him, he can travel again soon!

The girls love picking the dandelions and making wishes! They were in luck one of the parks we visisted had a whole little field full of them and I do believe they picked most of the field!

Thanks Clemson for hosting Rusty's conference maybe we can come back and visit you again another time!

Alice and Wonderland

Ellasyn and I got to spend a lovely Friday night at the dress rehersal for Alice in Wonderland. I had no idea of what to expect that night, all I was told was that call was at 3:00 and that rehersal would go from 4:00-11:00. 11:00 for a 5 year old????

Luckily we were able to leave about 8:30. Ellasyn was loving hanging out with all of the big girls and getting to watch the rehersal. Her favorite was the Cheshire cat because her costume was puwrple(purple) and gween(green) her favorite colors.
I was so proud of Betsey, she and her friend Maddie were the only 5 year olds that got "real" parts. They swapped roles in the matinee and evening shows, Betsey was a swan first and then a mushroom in the evening show.

She liked the swan part a lot better than the mushroom. I think that it may have had something to do with the costume difference. The swan costume was right up her alley with it's feathers and jewels! The mushroom costume not so much! She called it a "dirty t-shirt"!:)

Ellasyn can't wait until she can get back to dance with "her" Miss Jamie. She just sat there taking it all in. I was really impressed because after watching it 2 times at the dress rehersal I was kind of Alice'd out. By the time it got to the evening show on Saturday I wasn't sure I would be able to make it for the 4th time!

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you Bets! You were FABULOUS and I am glad you had FUN!

Sweet Home Alabama

As I am sitting here watching Sweet Home Alabama crying, I have to just laugh at myself!! So I thought that I would post some pictures of when we went to the A-Day game.

Betsey had Alice in Wonderland practice, so we didn't get there until the very end. Which really was a good thing! Betsey has really been bugging her Daddy about taking her to a game so we thought this would be a good trial run.
Of course Rusty was right she lasted for about 2 minutes and then she wanted a water, then it was a lemonade, and then came the "how much longer". Needless to say I don't think that she will be going to any real games of the 2010 season.

She and Ellasyn did like it that we were really close to the cheerleaders. That kept them entertained for oh maybe 30 seconds!

However the fountains were a perfect playground on a hot Alabama day. We finally bribed them with a slushee to get them to leave.

This only happened after they were both soaking wet! All in all we had a great time but I think that it will be a while until all 4 of us go to an Alabama football game together again, Unless it is A-Day game next year! :)

I guess we can be 4 of the 100,000 plus people that descend upon T-Town to watch "practice"!
